Howdy SD Chowhounders,
I am a SD native who migrated East (I know, I know). Visiting town, leaving Friday.
Flour tortillas where I live stink.* They are mass produced and sit on the shelf forever, even the brands carried at hispanic groceries. When I head back east from SD, I pack my check-through with as many packages of flour tortillas as I can and put them in the deep freezer when I get home.
My question: What brand of tortillas to buy, and where am I going to buy my multiple packages of flour tortillas? I actually prefer to get ones made with lard, if possible. Fire away.
* I actually have learned how to make my own tortillas, both flour and corn. They're pretty damn good, but not as good as SD produced burrito-sized goodness. God, I miss the Mexican food here [ but not the pizza. :-) ]
