Scratches all around my bowl after making breadcrumbs inside of a food processor

I just made fresh breadcrumbs for the first time and although the turnout was a moderate success I still had a few mishaps. I first sliced a french baguette into small pieces, placed them in the oven for about 20 minutes and placed them in a food processor. I'm assuming that the hard crust from the bread scraped up against the bowl of the processor, leaving several scratches all around. Is this sort of thing unavoidable when making breadcrumbs in a food processor?
