I know it's inconsistent with my newer, kinder, gentler identity, BUT a curmudgeonly part of me forces me to ask the Hound Pack:
What restaurant experiences REALLY didn't live up to their billing this year?
I'm not talking "Went to Burrito King; they messed up my order by putting beans in my carnitas burrito".
I'm talking "L.A. Magazine said it was likely to be the greatest, hippest new restaurant in California since the discovery of arugula; Zagat said the chef was a genius and the decor akin to Versailles (the palace, not the Cuban joint). After making reservations a month in advance, and dropping a three-digit price, per person, food only, the service was lousy, arrogant and obnoxious, and as for the food, maybe I shoulda stuck with Burrito King. . . "
I make no promises to compile and distill results, let alone to do it scientifically, but I GOTTA ask...
