I love scallops, but never order in a restaurant because so few places use quality scallops and don’t over cook them. But, because 3 S’s (Oakville restaurant) actually sell top quality ”DRY” (this is reeeeaaally important) scallops from their seafood retail counter next door, I made an exception. Wow! These guys know their seafood. Scallops were seared gold-brown, soooo perfectly barely cooked through, then served on seriously-thinly-sliced and sautéed fennel. OMG, I’m out to buy a bushel of fennel…had no idea it paired so fab with sweet seafood. My only disappointment: This is only served as an appetizer! BTW, it’s their most expensive appetizer at $14….Ha! Any other restaurant would have served these 3 huge-assed scallops as a main course. Gotta love it.
