I had dinner last night at Scalinatella with mixed results. We started out with a proscuitto and parmesan plate both of which were very tasty.
For appetizers I had the fried zucchini blossoms stuffed with proscuitto and mozzarella and they were terrible. No taste and very greasy. He had a half order of pasta bolognese which was great.
For entree we both had the veal medallion bolognese. Wonderful dish and definitely recommended. It's thinly pounded veal covered with prosciutto, mozzarella and sauce.
As you can see I love prosciutto!
Overall the food was good but not amazing, especially not for the price. Also there are so many things that are not on the menu so if you are at all shy about asking about prices this is not the place for you. I would also listen to waiter recommendations as now that I think back on it he subtly tried to warn me away from the zucchini blossoms.
