Sbarro has a bad reputation, but they did/do have a few really good menu items. They used to have cold linguine pasta salad that was really good. It was just linguini seasoned with a little oil and a couple herbs (pretty sure parsley was one of them) and a little bit of little pieces of red bell pepper.
This was over 10 years ago. I still think about that linguini. I even emailed/called Sbarro asking for the recipe. No answer. I still dream of this linguine, it haunts me. I actually tried to replicate the recipe at home, experimenting with different dried herbs.
I have a dream that maybe someone will know what the other herbs were and will tell me. And then hopefully one day I will be able to return the favor by "passing it forward."
Today Sbarro has some lame Rotini pasta salad with watered down italian dressing, and broccoli I think. This is not the same thing as their linguine pasta salad.
(I know this post might get nominated for lamest question award)
