How to save salty carrots and potatoes?

Soup Carrots Potatoes

I made corned beef and cabbage in my slow cooker and the carrots and potatoes came out so salty you can't even eat them. Was thinking I could make a soup with them but they are already very soft from being in the crockpot all day. It's too much to throw out. Any ideas?

    A few ideas -
    1) Microwave/bake some plain potatoes and use the pulp from them with your too-salty mix to make a mash for a "twice-baked root vegetable" filling for the potato shells.
    2) Make your soup w/o salt, stir in the veggies for the last 10 minutes to warm-thru.
    3) Or puree them separately and add as "thickener" to the soup.

Use them for a blended soup.
Boil plain potatoes, no seasonings and then add a portion of the salty potatoes and carrots and blend together and taste, then add more salty veggies if needed and re blend.
