Had incredible salsa at a restaurant in Houston and "supposedly" got the recipe from them but every time I make it, it is thin and watery. It is included below and if anyone can help, I (and my severely deprived taste buds) would be so grateful!! Thanks!!
4 medium sized ripe tomatoes, coarsely chopped (about 1-1/4 pounds); 3 cloves garlic; 1 fresh jalapeno pepper, stem removed; 4 sprigs cilantro; 2 dried chiles de arbol; 1 teaspoon salt.
In a medium sized saucepan, combine tomatoes and garlic; bring to boil; lower heat; simmer uncovered 5 minutes or until tomatoes are soft, remove from heat; cool slightly.
In blender container, pour cooled tomato mixture; add remaining ingredients, cover and whirl until smooth. Turn into bowl; cover with plastic wrap. Chill. Makes 2 cups.
