Thanks in advance to all of the great Chowhounders that I hope will give me some assistance here with a problem that I think affects many people.
My husband and I argue about food. The standard refrain is: What do you want for dinner? I don't know, what do you want?
The conversation goes back and forth and ultimately never gets resolved. I am the relaxed type of person and generally go with whatever he wants to do. I have suggested that we shop for groceries over the weekend and cook several meals at once, so that we will always have a nice meal (of whatever sounds good) available when he feels like eating.
The problem lately is that nothing sounds good to me and food just tastes bland, unappetizing.
My husband is at home all day and sometimes waits to eat until I come home from work. If nothing sounds good to me, he ends up not eating because he thinks he can't eat in front of me. When he doesn't eat, he gets very grouchy.
How do other couples handle this situation? In the past we've stocked the freezer with staples from Trader Joes and that worked for a while, until he became bored with the selection there. (yeah I know)
