Hello. I just moved to Chinatown in NYC and am exploring the grocery store on my block (Dynasty on Elizabeth). My favorite condiment discovery is sweet soy sauce which I like to use on salmon. I just broil a piece of salmon, and in the last 2 minutes of cooking, I brush on some sweet soy which makes a nice almost-carmelized sauce. It;s great with rice and spinach.
My other discovery is a sweet chili sauce which is AWESOME with takeout fried chicken.
I see tons of other sauces and jars which look good. black bean sauce, BBQ sauce, all sorts of other chili sauces. What do people like, and how do they use them?
