"Barb from Epharata" is a regular, alomg with me, on the Penna. travel board on AOL. Over the years the AOL group has met for periodic dinners, though not as regular as the DDC group.
After I had lunch at Donneckers in Ephrata (about 75 minutes from Center City Philly) we discussed it on the AOL Board. The chef there came from Le Bec Fin and is doing interesting things. Lunch is a real bargain.
Anyway, a few folks asked Barb to organize a Saturday lunch there. She did one better and got the Director of the National Christmas Museum in Lancaster to give them a private tour before they head to Donneckers. Perfect season.
I can't join them, cause I'm busy, but I thought I'd post info here in case others who are not on AOL want to sign on. (I post the DDC events there when they happen.).
Anyway, here's a summary:
"The National Christmas Center is located on Rt. 30 east of Lancaster. It is a self-guided tour of Christmas! There are antique Christmas decorations, an animal Christmas, Santa, Pa. German Christmas, trains, Nativities and the most lifelike Santas I've ever seen.
Doneckers is an upscale restaurant and clothing store in Ephrata. The food in excellent.
We are planning a get-together for a private tour of the Christmas center and lunch at Doneckers. The date os December 14th (Saturday).
If you are interested, please e-mail Barb at: Rliben1386@aol.com ASAP - but no later than December 1s -so reservations can be made."
