We were regulars here for quite sometime when it first opened at the Beverly Hills location. But we just sort of burned out on the food vs. price and stopped going. We dropped in Saturday for dinner due to being in the area.
Still a very nice looking space. We were just early enought at 7 to beat the crowd that was lined up when we left.
The food to me is still not quite worth the price. Not bad mind you, just not good enough. I must thank whoever it was who recommended the hash however. I had that and it was pretty darn tasty. Just a bit on the plain side with a smallish plate of hash with one poached egg and no sides.
My wife tried the grilled meat loaf with "those potatoes", (a huge mound of hash browns with sour cream inside and Swiss chard. They did forget the gravey, and the runner who brought the food then came back with au jus, but our waiter who was great got the right gravey.
The hot fudge sundae was very good.
I don't hate it, but the food just doesn't make my taste buds sing. That said, it has a great energy and is not a fortune so maybe we will go once in a while to try more of the menu.
For food we did hate we were invited for the Gospel brunch at the House of Blues on Sunday. Let's see, root canal or HOB's Sunday brunch again...hmmm? That is a tough one. Okay, I'll take the root canal.
