This weekend, my wife and I are playing host to some dear friends who are visiting from New York City. One of our unstated goals for their visit is to persuade them to come and live with us in Chicago. Consequently, we want to make their dining experiences both fine and locally unique.
We've managed to get a pretty good itinerary together, but we're running into an eater's block for Saturday brunch/lunch. Our first thought was to take them to Blackbird for lunch on Saturday, but it's not open for lunch on the weekends. Next, we thought about going to North Pond for brunch on Saturday, but it only serves brunch on Sundays in the wintertime, and we think they're going to have to leave before we could do a proper brunch on Sunday.
We want this meal to be somewhat elegant, but not overpriced. Other places we're considering include: NOMI, Bin 36, Kiki's Bistro, Caliterra, and Seasons, but we're not sold on any of these places. So now, I turn to the collective genius of chowhound for assistance in my hour of hunger.
Thanks in advance,
