A couple Saturdays ago, our last activity before departing Morro Bay was a stroll through the farmers market held in the downtown streets. Small with only a few farms represented, most of the stands were for prepared foods or crafts.
However, I did score some Santa Maria strawberries, Albion variety, that were so sweet and ripe for $4 per basket, a price that I consider on the high side. I also bought some small size carrots that were great for roasting whole. These were grown by Sr. Velasquez, the same farmer that produced the veggies I bought in Paso Robles a few weeks earlier.
