What a find! What a pleasant surprise! What a gem!!
The Indonesian food at this smallish place was sooo good, it took me totally by surprise! Run by a couple of Indonesian chefs and a Filipino helper, the products coming out of the kitchen were mesmerizing-ly delicious!
The Satay ( chicken ) skewers (with house made peanut sauce) has an indescribable pleasing charcoal taste and aroma component. Together with the uber-delectable peanut sauce, they form a combination that was utterly irresistible and intoxicating-ly good. I could easily down a half dozen skewers! IMHO, BEST Satay in town, bar none!
The Beef Rendang, though lacking the deep, complex coloration of versions frequently seen in S.E Asia. However, what's lacking in authentic appearance was easily made up by the exotic tasting, coconut-centric, creamy and slightly spicy sauce. Texture of the meat has just the right fork-tenderness consistency. Together with the coconut rice, again, they made an irresistible combo.
Our meal was so enjoyable, I cannot help but order a Nasi Goreng ( Indonesian Fried Rice ) to take home for my son to try. The verdict, bloody darn delish!!
The only downside IMO was the slightly high pricing charged for these so called ' take-out street food '!
Still, cannot wait to drive down and give the place another try!
