Due to a long series of inside jokes, I'd like to try to make a sassafras cake for a friend.
Problem is, I've never had or cooked with sassafras. All I know is that the root extract is a major flavor in root beer.
Has anyone tried it? Would it even make a good cake? I was thinking of finding a vanilla cake recipe, or maybe a spice cake recipe and adding sassafras root extract.
Let me know if you have any ideas.
