Sasoon Chicken

I've seen Sasoon metioned a few times here, so I stopped by.

Tuesday, we hit the place at 11:15.
Althought the door said it opened at 11, the place was empty, nothing on the roasters, no one in sight.
Yesterday, 1:30, we noticed it was open and stopped in.

The woman said that they were open Tuesday.
Maybe they were "a little" late.
But, the fact that no one was cooking at 11 am might explain the experience I had Wednesday.

There were no other customers.
Although there was meat on the vertical grillers, there was no chicken cooking.
We ordered a chicken plate and a few falafel balls.

The chicken was extremely dry., probably reheated.
The galic sauce, well, the taste reminded me of the smell of bowling shoes.
The falafel was very good (cooked to order).

I really wanted Sasoon to be a hit; it's so much closer than Zankou in Anaheim.
But, no luck.
At least the dollar I save for the same, but much better, plate at Zankou will pay for the gas.
