Chinatown restaurants have been adversely affected by unfounded fears of contracting SARS. With business yet to recover from the affects of 9/11, this irrational avoidance of some of the best food in NYC could be an economic death knell for restaurants in Chinatown. As an example, false SARS rumors about Bo Ky on Bayard St. has lead to an 80% business decline in recent weeks. (It would be a shame to lose their fabulous country-style duck!)
Support your favorite Chinatown restaurant by making a point to have a meal there. You'll be dispelling ignorance, helping a business and eating well to boot!
