Saroor Indian Restaurant in Walnut Creek

jay | Dec 10, 200308:49 PM

Hi there,

This is my wife's take, although this is from September, I had forgot to post it, bottom line, she really enjoyed it and we are both of Indian descent:

"Paneer Tikka Masala was very delicious. I asked for it spicy and BOY was it spicy. Perfect actually. The jhol/sauce was tart, creamy and thick, flecked with delightful bits of kasoori methi (the element that adds the je-ne-sais-quoi to restaurant curries). The paneer was really good quality, really firm and abundant, quite surprisingingly. Most places don't give any paneer. Prices weren't cheap but the portion was HUGE. I had two heaping helpings of paneer and masala but I still have a lot more left. Naan was ok but coulda been fluffier, but that could have been because of the fact that it was piping hot and then wrapped in foil. I can't wait to try their biryani. The decor sucked and the location is forgettable, but the food so far stands on it's own. I'd love to try more of their food and then write another review."
