I am looking for authentic Romanian sarmale (cabbage rolls, if you must be boring) served with mamaliga (Romanian polenta cut with a thread) garnised with butter and cheese. I do not want Turkish or Armenian or Hungarian dolma, sarma, etc. I do not want to have to go back to the Transylvania restaurant in Queens (where its not safe for a woman alone, what with the mafia around; but if anyone wants to take a big group fieldtrip, I speak Romanian and can get us in and treated well). There are other Romanian dishes I crave, but imagine that anyplace with sarmale will have them, too. Any ideas?
