Sara's in the Riverbend

edible complex | Jun 2, 2008 08:30 PM

Enjoyed another tasty meal at Sara's. I always sit in the "living room" on comfortable pillows on the couches surrounding the low height table. This private room will seat up to a party of 6. The menu is an eclectic mix of Creole Asian. It is hard for me to go beyond the Lamb Oxford, but the Chicken Curry and Shrimp Vindaloo are good, as well are the Muscovy Duck, Saag Paneer, Pork Tenderloin and Mahi Mahi. Be sure to ask for the lamb vindaloo, if that's your speed, as it is not listed on the menu.
For starters, it's always the crab cakes with the mint chutney, shrimp satay, crawfish eggrolls, and the incredible lemongrass crab bisque...go ahead and get the bowl, as the cup is just a tease. For dessert, the rice pudding, pecan cheesecake and chocolate sin cake are divine. The wine list is insanely affordable. Service is outstanding...and yes there are table and chairs in the main dining room, but the private room is fun if your group is game.
