Saraceno's - never go back

robert belson | Oct 22, 2001 10:34 AM

Based on Chowhound archives, Friday night, wife and I joined an out of town friend and his 10-year old son at Saraceno's in the North End for a forgettable and expensive meal. Four of us had - 3 dinner salads - nothing special, iceberg lettuce red onion, pepperoncino, mostly vinegar dressing; 1 eggplant parm - decent but nothing to write home about, 1 sauted swordfish special (overcooked and fairly dull) and 1 grilled lobster (pretty small and split between father and son -- they didn't look too happy). 1 bottle of Chianti. Dinners were lukewarm and absolutely forgettable, the bill (and this was supposed to be a reasonable place, why I chose it) was over$150.

Best thing about the dinner was the winding walk through room after room to our table. I had a list of about 6 places but it was late and this was the first one on the list we came upon as we strolled Hanover St. Never again, folks.
