Santa Fe

I just returned from a trip to Santa Fe where I took advantage of several recommendations found in earlier posts.
I can report that Horseman's Haven is still very good and Cafe Pasqual's is excellent. Chimayo was disappointing, not that it wasn't very good but when we ate there about 5 years ago it was an other world experience that you did want to end. This time it was just another very good meal. We also ate at The Old House, as one of our "fancy" dinners and were disappointed by everything but the dessert. We were going to eat at the Inn of Anasazi (where we stayed} but found the bartender to be so obnoxious, and the margaritas to be so awful, that we did not bother to dine there. The luncheonette on the square provided a seviceable breakfast, although the food was not in the same league as Pasqual's.
Oh yes, deserving of their own paragraph are the margaritas at the bar at La Fonda....outstandingly good and worthy of several repeat visits, the smoked pork quesadillas were a good accompaniment.
