Santa Barbara Shellfish Co/Stearn's Wharf

We were riding our bikes around town and decided to check out the wharf area. Being very cautious of wharf food, we decided on The Santa Barbara Shellfish Co. I started out the first day with a cup of their lobster bisque that was excellent. Enough to entice me into the building for some seafood the next day.

We were kind of in a hurry to catch Sideways at the Riviera Theater so we had a quick lunch. I had the crab sandwich which was served on toasted bread. Lots of fresh, crab and very, very yummy. Sides of onion rings and coleslaw were excellent. The coleslaw was not drowning in mayo but very nice with small slices of pineapple and the onion rings were flakey and delicious.

What caught our eye next to us was the fresh lobster being devoured by the couple next to us on the stools. No booths here, only a bar area and stools lined up along the windows.

The next day for lunch we had the lobster. Wow, absolutely wonderful! 1.5 lbs. of lobster right out of the tank served with lots of lemon and drawn butter. Sides of ceasar salad and onion rings were again wonderful. This is definitely THE best wharf restaurant I've ever been to. The meal was $21 and fed two people.

We will definitely return again and again here. The Stearn's Wharf is gorgeous and one of the cleanest in the state of California. A big thumbs up to the SB Shellfish Co. and their amazing lobster bisque and fresh, wonderfully prepared seafood.

On the chalkboard, the lobster tacos also sounded wonderful. Next time!! ***kim***
