Santa Barbara / Goleta with a kid

We will be in the area shortly coming from SF Bay Area, and will have perhaps at most 2 dinners and 2 lunches (one lunch will be on a separate Saturday).

Not looking for fine dining, and anything reasonable we will consider. Nothing spicy and no Mexican or Indian. Did quite a bit of research and haven't found too many options that I like, but maybe I'm missing something?

The weekend lunch I'm leaning towards Stella Mare for brunch. Is a reservation recommended?

Are there any opinions on

-Spiritland Bistro

-Madam Lu's (we speak and read Chinese fluently, want to know if there are non American Chinese options beyond 3 cup chicken, basil eggplant)?

- Red Pepper in Goleta (are there non spicy non American Chinese options/Chinese only menu?)

As far as Vietnamese, is Saigon In & Out the most popular choice? Which location is better?

How is Kobachi Izakaya Dining? How does it compare to Southern California izakaya's in general?

Thanks in advance.
