What is Sanguinaccio?

I noticed a sign outside an Italian bakery. What is it? Is it seasonal? I looked up recipes and I get everything from blood pudding to what sounds like a pot de creme. Since it's a bakery I assume it's the latter variety. Is that type Neapolitan? What would you compare it to that I might be familair with?
