Sandwich and skewer party

sweetpotater | Mar 27, 2012 10:29 AM

I'm helping a friend with a party—adults and kids of all ages, 35 people in all. Because she wants all finger food, we were talking about sliced baguette sandwiches and skewers. We don't have a ton of time, and she doesn't want to serve anything hot. Here's what I suggested so far; I'd love more thoughts.

Sandwich possibilities:

—Roast vegetables, pesto and/or sun-dried tomato spread
—Basic thinly sliced deli salami/ham/cheese/turkey
—Banh mi
—BLT with or without avocado

She wanted Cuban sandwiches. I told her they are best pressed and hot, but that it's not against the law to serve a cold pickle/mustard/swiss/pork/ham sandwich.

Skewer possibilities:

—Cubed salami and cheese
—Cherry tomato, basil, little mozzarella balls
