I'm an ice cream fan and rather picky about it. I'm curious where people find the best ice cream in town -- ice cream parlors and store bought pints or half gallons, not the best restaurant stuff.
I do not like Mitchell's. Their ice cream is too airy and has some chemicals in it, as I recall. I'm looking for the pure stuff -- vanilla made with real vanilla bean, different flavors made with few ingredients, fresh and clean tasting, etc.
My personal favorite is the pricey Straus brand, particularly their vanilla. Next is the mass produced Breyers, but I would like to find local ice cream available in SF.
Anybody tried that goat milk variety? Is it Laloo's or something?
