San Francisco Not Tourist Friendly

Due to the ongoing homeless and gang crime problems, San Francisco is NOT tourist friendly.

However, for a really fantastic meal, go south to Silicon Valley! My favorite is Original Joe's in downtown San Jose near the Plaza of 1798. I highly recommend the sweetbreads. Sit at the counter, and you can watch the chefs at work, throwing mushrooms into the air with occasional bursts of serious flames. I have been going there most of my life, it is just as good now as it was 50 years ago when I was young and good looking. (Now I am old and good looking.)
