I picked up the March Gourmet at lunch and am still digesting it. For the most part, the "100+ great things about San Francisco" looks like a laundry list of old standards (some of which are still at the top of their game). Although I assume places like Delfina & The Meetinghouse will be overrun with TOURISTS. The horror! ;-)
I love the description of the Zeitgeist Sunday BBQ - "toughs with mohawks, yuppies with kids and tattooed chicks drink draft beer by the pitcher". Kids drinking beer by the pitcher, when they serve great mixed drinks???
I know it will be good for our economy but what do I, as an extremely selfish person, wish they had not found? Nob Hill Spa (crowds there would be icky); The Wine Club (lot of the stock is one-offs so I'm not looking forward to the competition); Tommaso's (the lines are already huge); and Alemany Flea Market (I've gotten some great deals there, what will my bargaining power be NOW?).
Any thoughts? Did you see anything you thought didn't desire to be on the list? What was left out?
