My group is deadlocked in which of these two places to choose for our "fine dining seafood" destination during our 4 day visit to San Diego at the end of March. We are looking at a Thursday night, the day before our vegetarian participant arrives, so we don't care about vegetarian options, we are going all out fish, lobster, and crab (no one likes oysters).
There are two people who feel strongly and here are our arguments- after perusing the sample menus online, it seems that Marine Room has more choices in general involving seafood, plus I'm a sucker for the idea of being *that* close to the waves. I also personally prefer it when each of the four of us can order our own seafood dish so we get a more varied experience. On the other hand, the other person, who is in culinary school, specifically likes the fact George's at the Cove has a tasting menu and thinks that part of the Marine's Room hype is that very wave factor and the food at George's is probably better.
Our rankings are for 1. food experience 2. atmosphere
Any thoughts and comments you can offer to break our deadlock and sway us?
