San Diego - Looking for fun & excellent restaurant

Hello,

We're 2 Bay Area couples in our 20s going to San Diego for the first time. We'd like a restaurant recommendation for next Saturday night. Since 3 out of 4 of us will be celebrating our birthdays, we're looking for really good food but also a fun ambiance (good cocktails are a plus). One person does not eat red meat or poultry but does eat seafood. We like all types of food and are not concerned about prices.
