San Diego N. County/Encinitas notes and questions

While staying in Carlsbad last weekend picked up a rather large takeout order for 10 from Mariscos del Mar #1 on Oceanside E of I-5 at Camelot. The entire group raved about the food, chicken enchiladas, pork quesadillas, fish tacos and the outstanding lobster burritos. My wife's only complaint were the tacos, she likes hers grilled not batter fried. Following day I snuck away to the Village Grill for a great cheese burger. Thanks to all the hounds in the southland for these suggestions.

When we arrived on Thurs our room wasn't ready so we went to the Cabo Grill at Palomar Airport Rd and Coast Hwy for a couple of glasses of wine and some decent guacamole. We learned that they had just reopened after closure due to a fire.

We really enjoyed the view from the terrace and wondered what the locals think of the food?

Also, the July 24 Coast News gave a rave review of Savory Casual Fare at 267 El camino Real in Encinitas. Chef Pascal Vignau hails from The Steakhouse in Jakarta, and recently from the CA Bistro at the 4 Seasons Resort Aviarra. The article mentioned that the only advertising has been word of mouth. Anyone had a chance to check out the place?
