Can anyone recommend a place in San Diego (preferably close to La Jolla/UTC) that offers good cooking classes? I'm mostly looking for ethnic cuisines like Chinese, Japanese, Italian, etc. I'm not looking for a professional culinary school, I just want to take a few classes for recreation.
I've searched the local community colleges and most of the classes seem to be aimed towards people that want to work in the restaurant industry. The only other place I know about is Great News cooking school in PB. However, their classes seem to be more like demos than actual classes, basically you just go there and watch someone cook. I can watch TV at home and get the same thing and not have to pay the $50/session fee that they charge for their classes. I've noticed in their brochure that they are now offering more "hands-on" classes but I'm wondering if they worth the price.
