Get out of the office for lunch! You need that mental break. I don't care how busy you are! Here are my favorite places to eat. You will not be disappointed if you visit...

Tony Caputo's - On Broadway at 3rd W. I love "The Caputo" sandwich. I get only one-half 'cause the bread is big (from Vosen's Bakery) along with a half Vanocur salad (with feta cheese and olive oil & balsamic vinegar). Fun NY Deli atmosphere. Have you ever had a lemon/lime or orange Pellegrino? Bitter lemon and orange taste. Very Italian!

SugarHouse BBQ - On 7th E. just below 21st S. Formerly Redbones. The pulled-pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw. The Memphis-style dry-rubbed baby back ribs. I have fun trying all the sauces in squeeze bottles on the tables. They'll give you a brief tour if it's your first time. All their veggies are great. You can even get a veggie plate which I have done on occasion. Pretty good pecan pie too. Join the email club for frequent diner discounts.

Eat-A-Burger - Yes there is still one left on Highland Drive just N. of Cottonwood Mall. Cheeseburger Combo Meal with spicy fries. Great regular fries too. 50's style diner. It's no IN 'N OUT Burger but they are good. They've got punch cards. (I love punch cards)!

Cafe Rio - Always a wait but always worth it. I go to the one in the Midvale-Ft. Union office complex area. Everything is great at this cafeteria line style restaurant. I always get the cheese enchilada with black beans and rice with a double-scoop of pico de gallo. Grilled steak & chicken tacos are yum. But all my work mates get the Pork Barbacoa Burrito with hot sauce. They've got punch cards too!

Guru's - This is a home-grown local chain. They've kept the menu simple. You choose from: Salads, Mexican, Rice Bowls and Pasta dishes. I always get the half-plate of pasta w/ pesto & chicken. Man is that good. I don't know why their ice tea is so good...maybe it's the lime? Great people working there, always nice, always friendly.

Heavenly Ham - in the Family Center shopping center in Midvale. There is a Jamba Juice next to. I always get the Club Sandwich on French Bread with everything on it. (Drag it through the garden I say) Get the Box Lunch that includes a drink, a cookie (Macadamia double fudge- whoa!)and a side of chips. They've got punch cards and they'll keep them there for you in a file.

Mazza - Great Middle Eastern food! In that 15th S. 15th East area. I like to get the four side dish plate. Great Lebanese salad, hummus, mazza rice, eggplant dip. The falafel in pita bread is good too. They put a honey orange blossom syrup in your ice tea if you want. Exotic! Owner Ali is very nice & attentive.

Bon Appetit!
