SALSA - Home Cooking Dish of the Month, August 2017

Welcome to our FIFTH ANNIVERSARY Dish of the Month! Dish of the Month was started in August of 2012, and we’ve been going strong for five years now.

This month we’ll be making salsas, a perfect dish for warm weather and summer produce. You can really be creative with this dish, and take advantage of whatever you’ve got growing in your garden, or whatever you find at the market: vegetables, fruits, herbs, spices, let your imagination go wild! (Of course we are talking about the food, not the music, but you are more than welcome to put on some salsa tunes and dance around the kitchen while you chop and stir.)

Keep in mind this thread is for reporting on salsas you make; a little discussion of salsa theory, history, and favorites is fine, but we encourage you to get into the kitchen and start chopping. When you post about a salsa, please share your ingredients, your method, and your outcome. It would be great to also hear about what dishes your salsa accompanied. We’re always delighted to see photos too.
