Sal's is old news around here, mainly for good pizza in these parts. Yesterday I stopped in and ordered a chicken parm wedge. (I'd never heard the term "wedge" until I moved to NY.) It was really, really good. The cutlet was perfectly browned, with the edges darker and crispy, great crusty bread, just enough well-seasoned sauce, and not too much cheese. It came fresh out of the oven and was steaming hot. I brought home half for a later snack. They have soda, beer and bottled water.
The more I go to Sal's the more I like it. When I can, I sit at the booth for two across from the pizza making guy, who's a real pro. Lots of fun to watch, when they're busy and the food takes awhile to arrive.
