Whole Salmon? King, Sockeye?> Worth it?

Hi- Im writing from NY, hoping someone will tell me who has the best Salmon? I've found an outfit that will overnight me a 10 pound whole headed and gutted king salmon for 10 a pound, or a sockeye for about 7 a pound. Have you tried this? I've been using indirect heat and cherry and hickory to smoke whole fish (which I bought out here--the quality of the fish was okay, but not spectacular), and the result has been beautiful. I figured the wild salmon from the Pacific NW is the way to go...I know King has a greater oil content than Sockeye, which might be better for smoking. Any thoughts/advice, etc. are much appreciated...
