Looking for some places in western, south-to-southwestern burbs where one can get a really fresh, light salad. Not a huge salad, but a good quality salad, with QUALITY ingredients, and a steak. No other food, no additional carbs, NO FILLERS, NO BREAD. Just a good steak and a salad, QUALITY, QUIET dinner places. NO ONIONS, PLEASE. NO FRENCH FRIES OR GARLIC MASHED POTATOES, EITHER, no appetizers or gooey desserts either.....JUST A LIGHT SALAD WITH GOAT CHEEESE OR GORGONZOLA AND PECANS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, MAYBE A LITTLE SEASONAL FRUIT, VERY DELICATE, AND A NOT TOO BIG (MEDIUM) HONKIN' PIECE OF STEAK......AND A GOOD WINE LIST. I'm tired of the routine "can I start you off with an appetizer?" and the usual "did you save room for dessert?" I guess I'll have to start cooking at home again. But then I don't have the extensive wine list!! HOW ABOUT WINE BARS?.....WITH SMALL ENTREES..... ANY GOOD ONES IN THE SUBURBS????
