Sakana - Nanuet- GREAT

Michele Cindy | May 20, 2002 07:51 AM

Thanks to the person who recommended Sakana in Nanuet rt 59. I stopped in alone and sat at the sushi bar as you suggested. The place was lively, the service was super friendly, the customers were too. It was great. I wasn't too hungry, I ordered the special "salmon millenium" (seared tempura salmon, spicy mayo, tabiko, served in a martini glass 9.95) the portion was large. I had a live spicy scallop roll, fresh sea taste, and 2 ikura with quail eggs for dessert. Perfect rice to fish ratio. The couple next to me gave me a piece of their tuna pizza, tuna on a crisp flour tortilla like shell, topped with tomatoes, onions, and spicy mayo. Everything I ate was excellent. Better then many NYC sushi places. Can't wait to go back! Thanks!
