This place is not a restaurant. It's an ultra rare vietnamese take out place.yes,It looks like a generic chinese take out place, but if you take a look the menu closer,it's vietnamese dishes such as meat with coconut curry/hot pepper&lemon grass/basil leaves and many kinds of rice vermicelli. They also serve regular chinese dishes.UNFORTUNATELY,most dishes are from mediocre to not good--mostly too salty&greasy--.
BUT!!This place serves one of the BEST vietnamese style skewered chicken/beef.They call "Grilled or BBQ chicken/beef sticks" on their menu.It comes with four large size flame broiled bomboo skewered meat on the bed of lettuce& sliced cucumbers and sweet& sour dipping sauce on the side.Big enough for one meal. It's only$4.00!!The meat is very well seasoned and marinade. They flame broiled these skewerd meats very carefully everytime after takeing orders,so it takes time(about 15 mins). They DO NOT pre-cook.As a result, the meat is tender and jucy and full of flavor. And It always consists.
This skewered dish has been one of my favorite food in NY for 10 yrs,and it tasts still same.Again,I DO NOT recommend any of other dishes. The vietnamese salad (shrimp, squid)with lime juice(not peanut sauce,it's too sweet)can be recommended for a side dish.
One more good thing. This place opens untill around 12:30 MIDNIGHT!!if You find yourself craving for Viet food in the late night(if such a thing occurs.at least it does on me sometimes),this place is a good solution.open 7 days.
