Saigon Sandwich - still good

gordon wing | Sep 27, 2001 08:13 PM

was over in the city today and decided to have lunch at Saigon Sandwich - the proverbial hole in the wall - in the Tenderloin. Decided to splurge and go for the most expensive sandwich, the chicken - for $2.25. It was made with a warmed roll and very generously filled with a very tasty shredded chicken, lots of carrots, cilantro, chillies, daikon? - all dressed with a light vinaigrette.
A very nice lunch for a few bucks. The other sandwiches are just $2. The had a reach in cooler with some sweets and soft drinks/coffee beverages also. The two women who work the store are friendly and keep things moving right along.
