We decided to give Miss Saigon a try at its new location at 25 Lagrange Ave--which is a VAST improvement over its former location down the road. The new place is right in the middle of a residential neighborhood, but all the neon lights make it easy to find. We had fantastic shrimp and vermicelli Vietnamese spring rolls with a nutty, plummy dipping sauce, the traditional grilled meats over rice, and a stellar Buddha's Tofu with Ginger and Black Bean sauce. Zagat's claims the service is "languid," but the mouthwatering food is worth the wait. All of the above, plus two Export 33 beers, a coke and a Vietnamese coffee, ran about 30 bucks. Can't beat it!
Also, if you're heading down Main St towards the Mid-Hudson Bridge, there are an assortment of interesting-looking Mexican/Latin joints, a "Golden Krust" Carribbean bakery, plus a Spanish-American grocery store, Casa Latina, on the corner of Main and Corlies Ave. I'd be interested to hear if any fellow chowhounds had tried any of these places.
