I dropped in to SAHADI'S to pick up a few spices and was surprised to find that everything had changed since my last visit on Thursday.

One no longer takes a number for the Spice Department. It is all pre-measured in plastic containers of 3-4 ounces and piled on shelves.

Charlie explained that he couldn't make anything on selling the spices the old way, and was actually losing money.

It is a shame because I don't really want to buy 4 ounces of Cardomom pods, or anything else for that matter.

I guess this is what is called progress, but I am very disappointed.
