Safe to eat collards that had a worm on them?

zarn | Jul 29, 201703:39 PM     19

I bought two bunches of organic collards from Whole Foods and put them in the fridge for two days. Then, when I got them out, there was a tiny little green worm crawling around on one of the leaves. Picture below. My first thought is "take the worm outside and set it free, wash the collards, cook and eat."

But then I remembered that certain species of bugs are toxic if eaten or are parasitic. So I figured I'd ask the kind folks on here.

Anyone know what kind of worm this is? Am I good to eat my greens?
