(Sacto Area) Chow Alert! Smithfield Hams at Raley's

Bryan Harrell | Mar 19, 2005 07:30 PM

I was shopping in Raley's in Roseville on Douglas near Rocky Ridge, and came across a huge Luter's Smithfield Ham in the meat department. It was $65, but was enough for ten people at least. They also had Luter's Genuine Country Cured Bacon, also from Smithfield, for $3.99 a pound. I bought a two-pound block. It's incredibly salty, making it inappropriate as breakfast bacon, but a great addition (in chunks) to a pot of beans or (in slices) to a pot of greens.
I think other Raley's will probably carry the Smithfield products -- call or inquire at your local Raley's if interested.
I may go back next week for one of the huge hams.
