Hello CH's,
wanted to let you know about a new Thai place that just opened in Carmichael area. Bangkok Thai Cuisine on Greenback Lane couple blocks east of Sunrise Mall. (In the same parking lot as La Placita II) Had a really great meal, and recommend the Gift Egg Rolls, Tom Yum Gai or Tom Kha Gai soup (Kha has coconut milk in it, very smooth and satisfying). We also sampled the Green Curry, complex but not quite spicy enough at the medium level for most, #44, #46 (can't remember the names) and shrimp Pad Thai. The favorites were the #46, with calimari and chopped jalapeno, not too hot but just enough kick, the vegetables were nicely done in the sauce too, and the Pad Thai. The Pad Thai had these tofu cubes coated in a sweet honey-type flavor and were crispy on the outside. Very excellent, I'm getting hungry typing this. We also had room for dessert; I recommend the mango with sticky rice, but the rest of the party liked the fried banana with honey. Prices are resonable, their lunch menu isn't a great bargain, about $6.50 to $6.95, but its a good alternative to the local gut-busters. Hope you enjoy!
