I am heading to Rye Playland in the morning--AND I was there last week (don't ask) after not having been there for a good 10 years. It's still a wonderful place--all the art deco structures still intact, great kiddie rides, great carnival atmosphere. BUT...all the great old concession stands have been replaced by the Corporations: Nathans, Burger king, Pizza Hut--you get the idea. The only still-independantly owned place is Captain Hook's, on a beautiful bit of land at the park's edge overlooking the sound. So that is of course where we had lunch. The food was.. HORRIBLE. Any ideas for decent food, decent view, NEAR Rye playland???
