Among the many places offering smoked meats nowadays, Ruthie's is the latest, a spiffy modern place for a nice meal.
The competition is getting crowded. It has many items on offer that a typical bbq joint would have plus some alternatives like octopus, dinner salads, and brunch items.
For straight-up bbq, this is not a good choice. The ribs are nice and meaty but polite in flavor and texture. Polite is also the word for the flavor of the pinto beans and the greens.
The best part of the meal was the texture of the beans - totally spot on- and also the texture of the cauliflower/tzatziki combo. the good thing about the beans is that you can flavor them as you like at home - and you'll need to.
I'd consider their other offerings.
