we all had a great time at the RUSSIAN VODKA ROOM in times square tonight celebrating my friend's art opening at p.s. 1 museum in queens. we just sat around the bar and shared some appetizers like a herring plate. very nice with raw onions topped with pickled beets and chunks of boiled potatos. also a dill smoked salmon and potato latkes plate with horseradish sauce, onions, lots of flat italian parsley and capers. matched pefectly with our peach-apricot and cranberry infused vodka shots. woo hoo.

the lesson is always consider a russian place for a guaranteed good time!

fyi the RVR is at 265 west 52nd between 7th--8th avenues. the somewhat more formal RUSSIAN SAMOVAR is just across the street.
